Head to the busy Huai Khwang intersection to find one of Thailand’s most respected shrines to the Hindu god, Lord Ganesha. As one of most well-known and worshiped Hindu gods, the Elephant God is known for being the god of accomplishment, wisdom and wealth, and the destroyer of obstacles. The shrine is open everyday, however Tuesdays and Thursdays are believed to be the best days for worship. Lord Ganesha’s most-loved offerings are: modak, a sweet dumpling which is said to be Ganesh's favorite delicacy; laddu, which are round balls made of gram flour, ghee and sugar; coconut; Durva grass; and bananas.
